Busy day today for mail, I got volume 21 of the eBay Kommando newsletter from Streetwise – edited by the “eBay Kommando” himself, Oliver Goehler.

As per usual there were 3 sales letters in the package:

(1) The Driver’s Survival Handbook which is a staple addition,
(2) An 8 page letter selling a DVD containing self defence secrets for women… and
(3) Another sales letter for the Terry Wilson package which I have already mentioned several times.

The newsletter itself was a little different than usual, this time around Oliver spent 4 pages describing exactly how he put together a profitable “real-life eBay project”.

It was very interesting, Oliver seems to combine direct mail strategies with eBay to great success. By that I mean that he writes a sales letter about the product he is selling in his eBay description. He directs the letter to any viewers, selling the benefits of that particular product.

The remainder of the newsletter contained some usual features such as the “Powerseller of the month”, “eBay seller interview” and the “Ask the Kommando” section where Oliver responds to readers questions about eBay.

Oliver also covered some tactics to use for the festive period, spilling his secrets for “Successful Christmas eBaying”.

I haven’t covered Oliver Goehler’s eBay Kommando newsletter yet on the main site but I will put this on the “to-do” list so expect a review soon.

I have already covered another of his products, click below to read more:

Last week I ordered Jonathan Street’s “Blog It” package from Canonbury Publishing. As promised I received a PDF version of the manual to download immediately with a hard copy to follow through the post.

It was delivered quickly and landed through the letterbox with quite a thud.

To be honest I was very surprised at the amount of material I received. Jonathan has obviously put a lot of work into this package.

When you order you receive a huge, thick A4 printed manual running to over 100 pages.

It’s labelled as the “Quick, Cheap & Easy Way to Start Your Own Profitable Online Business”.

Also in the Blog It package is a DVD style box containing 4 CD-Roms full of bonus material. The CDs are:

(1) The Blog It Bumper Disk
(2) “Growing Your Blog Empire”
(3) “Blog Traffic Explosion”
(4) “Expanding Your Blog Empire”

These CD-Roms are designed to be used on your PC.

I’ve had a quick look through the CDs and there is a lot of information on them – loads of videos and eBooks which accompany the main Blog It manual.

As for the manual, I will be working my way through it over the next couple of weeks so please expect a full review in the very near future.

Jonathan Street is known as the “Internet Income Detective” and I get the feeling that he has really done a lot of detective work for this package.

More to follow…

In the meantime, if you want to know more about this opportunity, please visit the website:

I am not a fan of these sites which claim to show you how to make an income from filling in surveys online.

One famous site claims that you could:

“…make $25 in 8 minutes, over and over again, sitting at home in your pajamas…”

It’s all a load of hot air designed to make your get your wallet out and spend $39-$100 for a list of links.

In fact, I got an email from a subscriber today which confirmed that paid survey schemes should definitely be avoided unless you want to earn pin money:

Hi Ben
The competition is a great idea, I thought my experiences in the world of Filling in Surveys would be a good entry, as I am still smarting about it.
Particularly as they seem to be doing the rounds again.
I paid about £60 to a company and received links to about 300 websites
Of these, around 60-70% were American and of little or no use. Around 20% seemed to be ok and I spent a few weeks filling in surveys, but either my profile didnt fit or the rewards were just not worth the time.
But worst of all, around 10% were in fact, porn sites masquarading as survey sites, and although I got a warning once I had entered and didnt open up the porn, I inadvertantly infected my computer with a virus.
This resulted in it being necessary to strip out Windows and AOL and have it reinstalled at a cost of £150.
So members should be warned if they are considering this method of making money.
As far as I am concerned – ITS A SCAM.

Regards Mike

Thanks for the contribution Mike.

Please take heed – online paid surveys are not the huge “cash cows” that they are made out to be!

Some time ago (a few months) I received Avril Harper’s Ultimate Public Domain Profit Plan and, to be honest, have only spent some time on it in the last few weeks.

I have read quite a lot about using material from the public domain in the past but Avril’s guide is the most comprehensive I have seen.

What I failed to realise is that there are lots of rules about using any public domain material and you must ensure that the work you want to use is truely public domain material. Avril’s manual and CD package goes through all the pitfalls that you must be aware of.

More importantly perhaps, Avril offers lots of advice and ideas for using copyright-free books etc to create your own copyrighted work which you are free to sell and keep 100% of the profits.

There are lots of misconceptions about the public domain, what you can and can’t use.

For example, I recently noticed a post on a forum where one lady had got it completely wrong. She had basically said:

As far as I am aware all material on the internet is in the public domain

Her post didn’t last long – a moderator deleted it before too many people read it.

What should be taken from this is that material on the internet is certainly NOT always public domain

But it does highlight how someone can get it so utterly wrong and leave themselves open to serious problems i.e. lawsuits.

There’s plenty more info on the site if you are interested:

If you haven’t heard of Matt Shaw, here’s a little history.

Matt runs the Fixed Odds Trader service which offers recommendations on bets to place on BetOnMarkets. These are specifically fixed-odds bets on financial markets.

Basically, you sign up for Matt Shaw’s service and he emails you with details of each new bet he places, why he places it and where he puts the stop loss.

Matt apparently used to work in a warehouse but quit when he found he could make more by betting on the markets – especially since his winnings are tax-free.

Recently a subscriber to the free business opportunity email newsletter sent in the following review of Matt Shaw’s Fixed Odds Trader service:

“Further to your bizopp letter I have been doing Matt Shaws fixed odds betting on a virtual (paper trade) account.

IT WORKS! but it has taken me 2 weeks risking £160 to £180 per bet to win a £85.00 in total.

I must admit it is very safe but in betting there is always a risk and you will need to bet lots of indices every day to make real money.

However it is worth the money but I suspect I will never have the balls to stake in thousands which one will have to make big money”
