Avoid the scams, find out which Business Opportunities actually work

Recently I received the following feedback about the Equitrack VSR system from a subscriber to the free Business Opportunities Email Newsletter.

It read:

Our personal experience of Equinex:

About 7 years ago my husband and I bought the Equinex programme. It seemed very impressive and we were also impressed with the initial demonstration at their Cheshunt offices.

However, we lost money on it. The problem also was that when we would phone to ask questions re using the data, the two originators would have very individual ways of slecting their bets from the data provided, and advice often conflicted.

After having had a few unsuccessful periods, we decided to ‘papertrade’: we did this diligently and in a very disciplined way for a year without showing profit (on paper).

However this was in the days when betting tax existed and if that had not been in force, we did work out that we would have made a profit of a couple of hundred pounds on average per month.

For us, even had this been possible at the time (without the betting tax) it would certainly not have been worth the daily work, the risk (bad weather created havoc) and the outlay.

I hope this helps!”

Thanks for taking the time to submit this review.

Yesterday I mentioned in the free Business Opportunity Email Newsletter that Streetwise Publications have been advertising the new Terry Wilson manual called “How to Make £1,000 Before Breakfast” in the national press.

Two subscribers wrote in to provide quick reviews of this product. Their comments are given below:

Subscriber 1:

“Not a major review, but I bought this package and returned it. I am also a subscriber to Andrew Reynold’s Cash on Demand and found that there was nothing in “How to Make £1,000 Before Breakfast”, that I had not already learned from Andrew five-fold.

It has loads of stuff in it and for the price I feel it is good value”

Subscriber 2:

“I just recieved the Terry Wilson ‘£1,000 Before Breakfast’and was shocked to find that it is EXACTLY the same content WORD FOR WORD as Stuart Goldsmiths REAL WEALTH monthly manuals from his REAL LIFE course. So it seem Stu has done a deal with Streetwise who have truncated his 12 part course into a manual.

Just thought it might be woth mentioning to subscribers”

I had a feeling that Stuart Goldsmith had contributed some content…

Last year one particular advert appeared in the Sunday press business opportunity classifieds pretty much every week.

The little ad always said something like:

EXTRA INCOME
£250-£1500 a week p/t!
EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITIES
FREE INFO no obligation, leave details
0800 458 xxxx (24hrs)
https://www.nhbusiness.co.uk

For weeks I skipped past the ad without giving it too much thought but for some reason or other in December 2006 I decided to visit nhbusiness.co.uk and “order” the special report.

The site has no indication of what it is all about but I was curious so I put my name and address in anyway.

A few weeks later I received a small A5 sized envelope through the post.

It was the “January 2007 Special Business Report” and promised to reveal the “latest high-earning business opportunities available in the UK“.

The report consists of 3 A4 pages of advertisements for various biz opps – 22 seperate adverts in all.

These cover a variety of different business ideas but there are some familiar faces who advertise in this circular.

First off we have Simon Stepsys or, rather, “Simon Step$y$” – his spelling, not mine.

Simon was a heavy-hitter in the Prosperity Automated System pyramid scheme which was massive last year until it was dissolved by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US (see the main site for details).

Nowadays he seems to be advertising some kind of co-op marketing scheme which I didn’t bother reading about.

Another familiar face is Julie Wilson who also promoted PAS heavily last year in the national press.

On her website she says:

“Basically for 10 years I chased the MLM dream, striving for that elusive residual income and great lifestyle that all the hype makes you believe is within your reach. I don’t think I ever earned more than £750 a month, and that was a good month!”

This contradicts her classified ad in the Sunday Times of 14th May 2006 in which she promoted PAS by suggesting you could earn £1,600 per day.

Chris Cobb is here as well, advertising his “Automated Income Stream Start-Up Kit valued at £1,497”.

Then we have adverts for Kleeneze, VWDirect, Tiscali Networks, various nutritional supplements, “£25 for every sold sign you see”, greeting cards sales, fuel saving tablets and other MLM related opportunities.

Nothing really interested me at all here, least of all anything offered by people who participated in the PAS scam.

Wonder if they ever paid any money back to the people in their downlines who lost thousands of pounds by joining the Prosperity Automated System?

Hope it gets better next month.

At 5pm today, Joel Comm released his latest product in the form of a massive monthly program which provides you with all the tools you need to start building your own VRE sites.

It’s called “Monthly Templates”.

I saw Joel speak in September at Robert Puddy’s Focus 4 the Future seminar where he explained his $800+ per day Virtual Real Estate (VRE) business.

The guy’s an expert – his book, The AdSense Code, has recently become a New York Times Best Seller…

In fact, after the seminar I made some changes to my AdSense sites based on what Joel suggested and saw my earnings per impression increase by 137%. Quite outstanding!

Joel’s new subscription service is now open and those who sign up in the first week are likely to get even more for being “quick off the mark”.

I’ve recently had a subscriber ask me about the Equitrack VSR System from Equinex Ltd who are based in Cheshunt, Herts.

This is a horse racing betting system. You buy a licence to their system and then use it to create “no lose” betting opportunities on exchanges such as Betfair.

The email read:

“I am considering investing in Equinex Ltd’s Equitrack VSR system and have been invited to a live demonstration of the system. I am contacting you to see if you or any members have any experience of this system or have heard anything good or bad about the system, before i potentially waste my time.

The system is a software programe called Equitrack VSR which shows what to bet on in horse races.

The blurb states that they have been the UK’s leading sports software provider since 1998.

The cost of the system is at present £3,500 (Three Thousand Five hundred pounds) exc VAT until 31st January 2007. usually £4,500.

In the last mail (29th December 2006) they are increasing the cost of the program to £5,500 after the 31st January 2007.

They base the return figures on a 10% compounding bank starting each month with £100 invested.

Figures for 2003: £36,813.
2004: £37,411.
2005: £22,338.
2006 (so far): £24,622. (projected to be circa £32,622).

The sales letter is a simple 1 A4 page where it details the returns made monthly, the cost of the system and an invitation to attend a live demonstration (all of the mailings have just been to try and get me to attend a live demonstration) I assume that it is then that the hard sell may come into play.

The figures appear to be on the too good to be true side and the cost has kept me away from this opportunity, until now. They haven’t shut up shop and done a runner and i havent reard any negative press on them, so im thinking there may be some validity in the figures.

I’v tried to do some research on them, but there is very little available. I recently joined the Home business Alliance and their magazine “The Boss” has back issues available, they have Equinex listed in the contents of 4 issues going back to Jan 2003. I have recently ordered all of the magazines where Equinex is listed and will foward any info on to you if you require it.

Website addresss is https://www.equinex.com/EquinexV2/Home.html

Also: https://www.equitrack.net/homepage.htm

equinex’s email contact is admin@equinex.com

The address details are Equinex limited, Riverdene House, 140 High Street, Cheshunt, Herts, EN8 0AW. Tel: 01992 628688.

I have been recieving posts from them for at least 3 years now and it’s always been the same address and this is the address that is listed for them on the Companies House website.

My next step is to speak to one of them on the phone and ask abit more about the system and if they have staged payment methods etc.

Your comments would be appreciated”

Unfortunately, I do not know very much about horse racing, tipsters or betting exchange software so I cannot help.

However, I do know that many people out in the biz opps world are experts in the horse racing field so I would like to throw open the request.

Can anyone help me out here? Do you know anything about the Equitrack VSR System?

If so, please leave a comment here or contact me via the BizOppsUK Support Desk.

Thanks in advance,

Ben
